The German producer calls 2028 his “Last Chapter”. No tour dates are out yet, including for Brazil.
The Boris Brejcha farewell tour will take place in 2028. The German producer announced on Saturday, Oct 24, that he will end his career as Boris Brejcha at the end of that year. He shared the news in a video on Instagram and X. The post’s caption reads simply “Last Chapter 2028”.
“My dad always used to say that you should stop when things are at their best,” he says in the video’s English subtitles. He plans to play as many shows as possible in 2028, as a thank-you to his fans. Then, he says, “at the end of 2028, we’ll close the chapter of Boris Brejcha and the Joker.”
What we know about the Boris Brejcha farewell tour
DJ Mag Germany cites the accompanying press release for the timeline. According to the magazine, 2027 will be his last year of festival appearances. His final headline tour, “Last Chapter: Becoming the Joker”, follows in 2028. Dates and further details will come later, DJ Mag Germany reports.
So far, the announcement names no cities, venues or ticket details for the Boris Brejcha farewell tour. His official website links to Becoming the Joker, where fans can sign up for news.
“Neither sick” nor tired of music
In a comment under his post, Brejcha explains the move in more detail, DJ Mag Germany reports. He says he is not sick and has not lost his joy in music. He made the decision alone, after long reflection, according to the magazine. He also compares his story to a good book with a happy ending.
The press release describes the step as a withdrawal from his music career, DJ Mag Germany notes. In the video, however, Brejcha speaks only of closing a chapter. Neither the video nor the coverage says whether he will keep making music under another name.
Where the Joker began
For fans in Brazil, this story has a local start. His official bio says he played the first show of his career at Universo Paralello festival in Brazil in 2006. The same bio says the Brazilian Carnival inspired his Joker mask, which he has worn ever since.
Over two decades, he built a sound he calls “High-Tech Minimal”. He also founded his own label, Fckng Serious, in 2015, the bio says. This year he sits at No. 57 in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs.
Will the Boris Brejcha farewell tour come to Brazil? So far, nobody has announced dates for Brazil or anywhere else. We will update this story when the 2028 dates are out.
