Insomniac and ADE plan Map Point Summit, a Las Vegas industry conference between the EDC weekends

The three-day summit debuts in May 2027 at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, with ADE programming sessions through ADE Pro and ADE Lab. Exact dates, speakers and prices have not been announced.

Insomniac is launching Map Point Summit, a new electronic music and rave-culture conference in Las Vegas. Its partner is Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), which EDM.com calls the world’s largest electronic music conference. The three-day event debuts in May 2027 at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, between the two weekends of EDC Las Vegas. That is according to the official Map Point Summit announcement, dated Oct 22. As a result, the biggest US rave promoter now has an industry conference of its own.

What we know about Map Point Summit so far

EDC’s Dusk weekend runs May 14-16, 2027, and its Dawn weekend runs May 21-23. The summit fills the gap between them, as part of what Insomniac calls the “12 Days of EDC.” However, Insomniac has not yet named exact summit dates. Insomniac says it will share speakers, programming and ticket details “in the coming months.” For now, the site only takes registrations of interest.

ADE joins in what both sides call an “exclusive North American partnership.” Under the deal, ADE brings sessions from its ADE Pro and ADE Lab programs to Las Vegas. In addition, the site lists plans for keynotes, workshops, a hands-on music-tech expo and a marketplace for independent makers.

Why Rotella wants a separate rave industry

Insomniac founder and CEO Pasquale Rotella first revealed the summit during his keynote at ADE’s 30th edition in Amsterdam. Billboard’s Katie Bain moderated the talk. Its title was “The Future of Rave Culture and Why It Needs Its Own Industry.” In it, Rotella argued that rave culture needs a stronger, more independent business ecosystem to last, according to the announcement.

“Rave culture was built by ravers, for ravers,” Rotella said in the announcement. He also called for the scene to “support independent promoters, share knowledge, create opportunities for the next generation.”

The name looks back to early underground raves. Back then, promoters often kept party locations secret. So ravers first went to a meeting spot, the map point, to get directions. Insomniac says the summit should work the same way for newcomers who want to find a path into the scene.

A new date on the US conference calendar

Map Point Summit adds a second spring industry gathering in the US. Miami Music Week, built around Ultra in March, has long been the main business week for the US dance scene. Las Vegas in May now offers promoters, artists and labels another place to meet, about two months later.

The launch also fits a busy week for Insomniac in Europe. On Oct 19, Time Warp started its own label inside Insomniac Music Group, as we reported. Meanwhile, ADE runs in Amsterdam through Oct 25.

Several basics are still open, including the exact dates, pass prices and the size of ADE’s part of the program. We will update this story when Insomniac publishes them.
